I honestly didn’t finish the first episode. I couldn’t believe that an obviously intelligent, charming young woman would be talked into this absolute cringe fest.
I actually do think you’re bullying her. Saying she needs to stick to acting and stop trying to show her personality, or saying “it’s okay to not have close friends”, or it’s clear she’s never cooked before, or being petty by pointing out she spilled a bit of water. wtaf?
Everyone jumping all over her acts like they know the ins and outs of her personal life. This is 100% mean girl behavior.
Okay, well no offence but I disagree that I’m bullying her.
I really do feel she has a group of people around her who are pretending to be on her side and they just aren’t. I think they’re setting her up to be made fun of. Maybe she knows this and doesn’t care, maybe not.
I agree that this article is bullying. And you are simply on a bandwagon. This show has been renewed because of its popularity. Perhaps you should watch more American cooking shows to understand the format of this one.
I’ve watched a fair few hours of American cooking shows so the format is familiar.
I stand by my theory that her people don’t have her back. And I think perhaps my tone isn’t familiar to a non UK audience as this is most definitely not bullying to a UK audience, but aware that written word doesn’t always travel well.
And agree the viewing figures have been good, but the second show was already filmed wasn’t it, by the time the first one aired? Or maybe I heard wrong?
No offense, but I’m not sure anyone who isn’t a product of American culture should be telling an American making a show in America about how her mostly American audience will view her.
At some point, I really got over the British superiority complex. Permanently. Forever.
The entitlement baked into the advice is interesting.
It’s for Netflix, right. And she’s married to a very famous Brit, right?
Well, it is very much made for anyone who has ever bought into the manufactured debacle that is the Windsor shitshow, especially the Brits, since that’s where the bs began.
In a man's eyes, this constant bullying of Meghan is revolting. Mean girls, it's enough. Give her credit for trying ౼ don't gang vomit all over her all the time.
Hey, do you think I am bullying her? I’m really surprised if you do. I think she’s being screwed over by her team who quite likely don’t like her very much.
Ah sorry, it’s hard to read tone on here. I really do think she could have a HUGE much loved hit on her hands if she had the right people creating the show.
Hahaha. As if. You put yourself on the public stage in any way, but esp if you are a publicity chaser like MM, you are there to be critiqued. That’s the nature of show Bizz. Harden up.
I gathered that from your well-written post! I don't even like that type of show, but I can't look away from train wrecks or B grade movies. Guilty pleasure.

To paraphrase Harry Enfield;
Oi, Meghan. NO!
I just think she has a team who hate her.

Pro tip: she's actually a shallow, venal middle-aged woman.
No offense, but I’m not sure anyone who isn’t a product of American culture should be telling an American making a show in America about how her mostly American audience will view her.
At some point, I really got over the British superiority complex. Permanently. Forever.

Well, I’m not sure that the show is for a mostly American audience given the global reach of Netflix but I don’t know the stats so maybe.
And like I said, Brits are dicks. We know it. The piece was tongue in cheek but perhaps that doesn’t travel well.
It’s for Netflix, right. And she’s married to a very famous Brit, right?

Good comment Holly,

You're not bullying Meghan; on the contrary. You're positive, giving good advice. That's why I wrote "Good comment".
But generally, I'm taken aback at the vicious reception of MM's show, and everything else connected with her name.
It's an inverted version of the quip "Women's faults are many. Men have only two: Everything they say, and everything they do."
Ah sorry, it’s hard to read tone on here. I really do think she could have a HUGE much loved hit on her hands if she had the right people creating the show.
Right ౼ and now I'm following you...

"Whomever let you just ad lib to camera should be sacked."
"Whoever." It's the subject of your sentence. But a very good thought.
Ah thank you, grammar is NOT my strong point!
I've never seen the show, but now really feel like i need to check it out!
It has the potential to be brilliant, but she needs people on her team who have her back.
Anyway I enjoyed your post and It stopped my doom-scrolling...for now at least!
I gathered that from your well-written post! I don't even like that type of show, but I can't look away from train wrecks or B grade movies. Guilty pleasure.
What a commotion. Who has the time for this?
