Well, here we are. TWO WHOLE WEEKS of MJ. (If you want to read about week 1 and my weigh in then you can do so here).
Pros:
Not feeling hungry constantly.
Being able to focus on other activities and fun stuff instead of meal planning, food shopping, cooking, washing up etc - in short, I no longer feel obsessed by food.
Knees no longer painful. (I was waking in the night with pain).
Chin less wobbly.
Yoga folds now easier as my spare tyres have shrunk a little.
Gastro issues significantly reduced, which is hugely freeing (I no longer track where the loo is everywhere I go).
Being able to drink more than 1 cup of coffee per day without catastrophic effects.
Eating and then being able to stop eg/ shared some popcorn at the cinema but stopped after a few handfuls. I control how much food I eat, rather than bingeing with abandon.
Cravings have moved to healthier foods - yoghurt, lentils (who even am I?), apples…
Wore a denim skirt on a night out and only felt mildly uncomfortable to be without my safety blanket Lycra uniform.
Sleeping more deeply which I suspect might be down to not waking myself up snoring.
Feeling a sudden passion for trying new things. For example, I have applied to volunteer at a local community run theatre to help out with serving drinks. I’ve cut a new sewing pattern to an optimistic size 14.
Cons:
Mild insomnia in the form of waking earlier than usual. 5.30am today.
Slight constipation, though nothing compared to the poor souls on various MJ weight loss forums.
Being an MJ bore.
Feeling a bit impatient as I have a lot of lovely dresses that I’d like to release out of retirement.
Feelings of regret that I’ve let my size and my food obsession run my life for many, many years.
So the weigh in for week two? Are you ready?
