Just do what you want to The Table. Do not, I repeat do not, send the previous owner any more messages or any photos. Let it be The Christmas Table to her forever.
Lynn this is exactly the kind of sensible advice I have come to expect from you. Of course I mustn't send her my slightly garish gold, green and salmon pink circus style abomination. I won't. Promise.
At least it's a full-sized table and not one meant for a dollhouse! Frankie Heck from "The Middle" always wanted a beautiful dining table & found one online for a great bargain. Hilarity (and great embarrassment) ensued when it was delivered. Great show. Full of grace, life lessons, and humour. Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Well it’s currently being painted. I have mixed feelings on whether to send a photo of it to the previous owner or not. I don’t want to tip her over the edge!
I don’t think I have furniture that I’d overly mourn but it was super sad selling the high bed Boo and I assembled before she started primary school. We painted the whole room. Put up posters. Rearranged the books and finally assembled the bed in time for Dadda to be proud when he got home. Was a bit tearful cleaning her little stickers off it before it went to a lovely little boy who was just starting school.
It’s emotional huh? I mean I still have my son’s cot. It’s been a mini sofa and a toddler bed and now it’s just sitting in the eaves of the house for any grand children.
I loved this, I relate a lot having 3 sons one who has an ehcp. I also have a three sided cot and a toddler bed as ‘benches’. And far too much head space taken up with ‘one day’ interior plans. Hope the table works out.…. Maybe you can mock up an Xmas dinner family photo now, before the makeover, and then send the seller a card in Dec saying you decided to just keep it as it is?
Oh God that is such an excellent idea and I've already painted it! Gah, that'll teach me not to read comments straight away. Damn, now I need to decide if I send her a photo and can I live with her hating it? (Also sending solidarity from one EHCP mother to another) x

Ah I love this! My boyfriend has a habit of buying mini versions of things accidentally. It’s a source of great amusement!
Oopsie! 🤭
I'm waiting with bated breath for this story to continue.....!!

Yes...maybe just let her keep her memories of it and put your stamp on it now!
